When I am trying to reqruit someone from dice, I see resumes that are heavily bloated to an extent. I see similar resumes with names changed and some words changed both from same city, so maybe they are from same consulting company, i have to dig through in detail to figure out a good resume and finally the chances are that I may have gone through a bloated resume are high.
One suggestion that is in above post is good, INS can releease skills associated with filing h1b petition and match with skills on resume.

Exactly.. You apply now.. no way it is going to get approved in time.. substitution approval takes anywhere between 4 months to 1 yr. Most common I heard is 6 months. you try to slide just under the door.. they aren't going to be happy abt it..

Guys lets face it, Currently we are up against a wall. This is absolutely THE worst time when it comes to immigration. We have to be quite careful about the kinda steps we take esp when it comes to immigration as the lawmakers have bundled us up as a banner of "immigrants".
Is there any pacca news on the date when the Senate take up this "immigration reform" bill? The extremely sad truth is that we can ONLY TRY. This is NOT in our hands and we have NO bargaining power here. That makes it all the more necessary that QGA guides us all the way and that we can pay for QGA all the way. A quick q to the gurus. Right now what is the status with QGA? I mean we have 30k they need 200k. So till we pay 200K they do nothing or are they doing this in steps like for 50K we take u to point A and for 50K more we take u to point B etc? Often my friends and people i talk to ask me that question and come up answerless :)
Please dont get me wrong, i m in NO way quitting or bringing people down, just keeping in touch with reality. :)

What is this reverse brain drain ? there is no such thing - folks who are here are going to hang on tooth & nail to stay here come hell or high water - the only ones who are going back are the ones who have no other option.

Well Said! I support you 100% and agree with you totally about this. Fraud is any program is unfair and unjust on everybody, including the H1 holders themselves.
Your company is not a sample of the entire population. The H1B program is not on-demand program. It is once in an year annual event (because of the demand). US based companies when they get a new project which needs a position, if they cannot hire locally, cannot get H1B worker from overseas when they want. So, in anticipatory mode they have to get some numbers and utilize them and we do lose some H1B visas if they cannot bring them for various reasons.
Is it fair, may not be. Is it widespread waste, I don't think so.

What I really wanna know is how Grassley will react to a H1 visa blackout in April 2008.
If he fails to get his $5k tax hike before April and H1 blackout in the first day as expected, then it just adds fuel to the fire - he will rev up his war-drums again. But if he gets his way and H1 blackout anyway (if not in the first day then soon due to pre-existing demand from 2/3 of the applicants who lost the lottery last year), then he looks like a total a**!!
Maybe it's in his best interest to not touch H1 before then. I mean this must be why he was rambling about how he could be willing to increase caps if he gets his tax hikes...

I went for the visa stamping in chennai consulate on Dec 5th. After a few questions, the officer granted me the visa and said i will receive the passport in a few days. But so far haven't yet received my passport. Does anyone know what is happening? is anyone faced such situation before? I heard about this admin processing and delays in stamping but i thot the officer would usually give out some kind of form to you during the interview if your case goes thru such processing.
The web-site says we can send an e-mail to the consulate regarding any questions for NIV if it's pending more than 5 days. Has anybody done that and what would be the response?

EB3 I is going to have a long wait. I had applied for Canadian green card and had received it. At present i have EAD and AP. Is it worthwhile to go into consular processing and work in canada or apply for a blue card or think about Australia. If this sounds okay how should i proceed.

What is your PD? Your profile says you are July Filer and your labor approval date is in 2008. Maybe a typo? I think if your PD is before 2003 for EB-3 I, there is hope of getting GC by end of 2010. Otherwise, it could be a really long wait without any legislative changes.

Like any responsible corporate firm they wanted to sound a little empathetic but didn't want to give false hopes by saying a reversal was possible though they probably knew the outrage among potential filers who had been dealt a nasty blow below their belt. But VB disaster was one issue where there was not even the slightest doubt that what had happened was horribly wrong and cruel that even some cold-hearted anti-immigrants were confused for a day or two and didn't know what to say because they didn't want to pile on our heartache. The way CIS works had, like any bureacracy over time become a cold and heartless beast but since they deal mostly with non-citizens who have little rights and feel so unsecure and unwelcome in the first place to ever speak out, they were never going to know how their actions are wreaking havoc on their customers lives. So unless affected people come together and act they are never going to know how bad it sucks to be on this end of the divide. And ofcourse it's not all CIS - they are just an arm of the government carrying out the law. it's going to be next to impossible to do anything without congress stepping in. And while Fragomen is definitely not lying when they say they will work for some relief and probably are given that their partners often show up on congressional hearings, they won't lose sleep over it nor will their passion levels be anywhere near that of those who are directly at the receiving end of this current ugly messi.e iv and it's browsers. That's why it's critical that iv be heard - & not just through flower campaigns. ofcourse bringing together immigrants was always going to be like herding cats but it shouldn't be this hard. give money people!

It is really frustrating that some people instead of volunturing for effort tries to find loop hole or excueses in the IV's efforts. If you can not volunteer atleast support those who are doing that with lots of energy and determination for our cause.
Utlimately at a one day WILL WILL FIND A WAY.
If we are willing to help ourselves than only this thing will happen.
So keep faith in IV core and its efforts and be supportive to their efforts whenever you can.

Did you use PO box as address on I-485? I had heard USCIS does not accept PO box as address in I-485.
actually what happen The NBC sent my I-797 Welcome notice to my lawyer and one to me but because I was not on the lease I didn't have my name written on the mail box, so the mail man returned the notice to the sender (NBC) after that the NBC when they got back the welcome notice they re-opened the case so after that I got a new message saying the last letter we sent has been returned it is very important that we have the right address blah blah blah
and then my lawyer called and made sure they have my right address since I use a PO BOX for mailing purposes not my physical address
and then I got an online message saying we mailed the document to the address we have in our file or our system something like this
and after some day I got the Document they were talking about sent to my PO BOX: it is not GC but the Welcome notice that failed to get to me in the first place
so Document in my case is the Welcome notice
I really can not believe my eyes until I will see my GC in my hand
