Behind the scenes: Kate Winslet shoots the new autumn/winter campaign for U.S label St. John

Kate Winslet may not be a size zero, but that won't stop her from forging a successful modelling career.

The actress showed off her curves as the new face of U.S knitwear label St. John for their 2011 autumn campaign.

In behind the scenes footage, a smouldering Kate is shot in a series of elegant poses on stage at a theatre in New Jersey.

'Every woman's dream': Kate claims the camel dress is something you can 'throw on, zip up and go'

In video footage, entitled 'scenes of a woman', Kate declares her love for the U.S label for creating clothes that suit her 'real shape'.

Kate says: 'With St. John You can look extremely chic without trying too hard.

'You don't feel as though they are clothes that only a model would be able to wear.
'And obviously I am not a model, I don't have a model's body, I have a real shape.

'And that just means a lot to me to be able to wear clothes that do embody that message of strength and power and femininity in a real shape.'

Fresh talent: Kate replaces model Karen Elson and actress Angelina Jolie, who 'overshadowed' the brand

Having it all: Kate is inspired by mothers who set an example to young women, and hopes to do the same with her ten-year-old daughter Mia

The Titanic actress was hired to replace redhead model Karen Elson.

Angelina Jolie was previously the face of the label but it was reported she 'overshadowed' the brand.

When hiring Elson, CEO Glenn McMahon told WWD: 'We wanted to make a clean break from actresses and steer away from blondes and cleanse the palette.'

But it looks as though McMahon is now eating his words after hiring the 'blonde' actress
