USCIS Announces Revised Processing Procedures for
Adjustment of Status Applications
WASHINGTON�U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that,
beginning immediately, it will accept employment-based applications to adjust status (Form I-
485) filed by aliens whose priority dates are current under the July Visa Bulletin, No. 107.
USCIS will accept applications filed not later than August 17, 2007.
On July 2, 2007, USCIS announced that it would not accept any additional employment-based
applications to adjust status. USCIS made that announcement after receiving an update from the
Department of State that it would not authorize any additional employment-based visa numbers
for this fiscal year. After consulting with USCIS, the Department of State has advised that
Bulletin #107 (dated June 12) should be relied upon as the current July Visa Bulletin for
purposes of determining employment visa number availability, and that Visa Bulletin #108
(dated July 2) has been withdrawn.
�The public reaction to the July 2 announcement made it clear that the federal government�s
management of this process needs further review,� said Emilio Gonzalez, USCIS Director. �I
am committed to working with Congress and the State Department to implement a more efficient
system in line with public expectations.�
USCIS�s announcement today allows anyone who was eligible to apply under Visa Bulletin No.
107 a full month�s time to do so. Applications already properly filed with USCIS will also be
accepted. The current fee schedule will apply to all applications filed under Visa Bulletin No. 107
through August 17, 2007. (The new fee schedule that becomes effective on July 30, 2007, will
apply to all other applications filed on or after July 30, 2007).

I was in the same boat as you. I did not get my wife's AOS receipt but all others ( 5 out of 6) . But when the FP notices came with her AOS receipt number on it, I thought USCIS may have misplaced the receipt.
Right after the fingerprint, we received this LUD on her AOS case:

On October XX, 2007, the post office returned our last written notice on this case as undeliverable. This can have serious effects on the processing of this case. Please call 1-800-375-5283 to update the mailing address so this notice can be re-sent.
I was shocked. I have emailed the company law firm and I'm awaiting response from them.... Have they mistyped their own address since that is supposed to go to them? Or USCIS is just pulling my legs?

Of course Nikon can't help support third party lenses. They have a specification (that isn't available to others) that specify how the interface between the camera and the lens should work - but the can't change that specification (or change what the camera does) in order to support other manufacturers lenses. If they really wanted other manufacturers to make lenses to work on Nikon, they would perhaps publish (or license) the specification. But I don't think Nikon is particularly interested in doing so.
Sigma, however, has made it their business to reverse engineer the interface between the camera and the lens, without the access to the specification. They therefore are responsible (even if they plead not so) for any malfunction between the two. However, one of the problems with reverse engineering is that you can only see what's being used at any particular time - the spec may well have some variations that aren't used in a particular setup, but allows for future expansion. This is where Sigma will have a problem when Nikon brings out a new/different camera model.
The firmware for the lens should be possible to upgrade, assuming it's a case of just not understanding some command or such.

US born citizens cannot deported. But naturalized citizen can be deported, if he obtained immigration (GC) by frudalent means (false documents, sham marriage, by cheating.. etc).
Citizens of US cannot be deported. That is the LAW... But if that guy had a Green Card or any other visa, then he can be deported...

Yes but you can not work on H4, just after filing H1 papers. So what you do is, go to Chennai and get a stamp that should not be a problem.

When I filed my AOS application I was in CA and still I am working in CA, I never worked / lived in MIAMI,FL.
If they have to transfer my case they would have transfered to some CA local office not to MIAMI,FL local office..

Unfortunately I-485 class action is more complicated (different types of immigrant visas, different statutes, etc.). The only one I know of, ImmigrationPortal.Com v Ridge (03-cv-02606, District of Columbia, was not certified as class. Also, ACLU have little interest in pushing I-485 lawsuit as there is no immediate benefit, GC holders cannot vote. This may be another action item for IV - Immigrationportal suit failed in part because there was no organization behind the suit. Right now the majority is concerned about EAD/AP, but if FBI name check does not change, the wait can be decades based on the volume of applications and current "efficiency" of the FBI NNCP.

I asked IV core on what version of immigration bill they support because I and other people wanted to know since there are so many amendments to the current immigration bill and Now I log in to see , the thread is missing, why, my question was straight forward, again I am asking them on what form of immigration bill they support. I highly doubt In what they are doing looks like they are working for the benefit of them self. Guys please don�t be ignorant and its your right to ask the question don�t be a dumb crowd but ask questions.
I am too in the same GC queue with I140 and I485 filed and pending, so don�t count me as anti � immigrant but also want to see the betterment of others too who are in GC process and will be effected due to the introduction of the new bill.

Another question is when using AC-21 to change jobs via H1b transfer, (or even EAD for that matter)
how does one bring up the topic of AC-21 to the employer?
Is is as simple a putting a condition to them saying hey "I will need an employment verification letter from you to ensure that my 485 process started with my previous employer will not be hindered."
(I am not talking desi consulting coy...but other companies where the HR person might not have a clue of what AC21 is!)

To me this latest I485 filing issue is about as low at it gets. Specially the way it was handled, and the stick approach afterwords with no regrets by any one. (amongst others FBI name checks, retrogression, Country Caps, etc. etc.)

Journalists - Wrinkle in reporting numbers by USCIS
Lets respect ourselves a little better and take a stand, not be docile and humble specially when given the stick. The tougher the immigration gets, the better, provided its dealt fairly and unequivocally.

I was in a similar situation, I got my I-94 renewed by went into the U.S - Mexico border near San Diego on 02/28/2009. It is the simplest way to get your new I-94 if you are near Mexico border.

I don't think the spiral staircase shot ever gets old. Each one has its own characteristics and the varied tones and depths always make for interesting B&W shots. I'm sure it's a rare day that an office stairwell makes a good color shot. ;) I vote that you work the shot from every angle and show us what you came up with.

There's a least three different views, this one is from the top floor where the railing is different (no continuation upwards) from all other floors, and there's one possible view looking up from the bottom floor as well. I'll see what I can do... :)
