Does anyone have this problem? IPhoto duplicates the event section. When sync to the iPhone. Shows in iTunes but not in iPhoto .
yeah I have this, I think it's a problem with the new iPhoto update, pretty annoying! https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3023160?start=0&tstart=0

I visit MacRumors and Spymac on a daily basis. I come here for Apple news, and go to Spymac for the gallery and forums. Spymac is a very entertaining site, despite the iWalk "leak". Hell, Apple made big mistakes too but we still love them.

Has anything happened for this yet?
After reading threads like this (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=163611), I think we should maybe start a guide about equivalent apps, Windows to Mac.
I don't know nearly enough about Wiki to start and don't have quite enough time to learn today. :o

I find shut down times amazingly fast now. Takes about 4 secs to shut down, even with a poultry 5400rpm HD. Also my Airport issues have gone, YAY!!

So I'm looking into a new iMac and my budget is 1500 so I'm wonder whether to get the 2.5 ghz and get some ram from OWC or just go with the 2.7 ghz please help me decide
How long do you intend to keep the machine? Because you can always save up more and buy RAM later, but the processor is pretty much set. For this reason, I would recommend getting the 2.7.
Since you'll be spending $300 more for the 2.7, you're also getting twice the hard drive space and a better graphics card.

I have a Blue/white G3 at home and I need to upgrade, but can't afford to get what I would really like (a G5). I have 21" apple monitor, keyboard and mouse. And, I use all the graphics software: Quark, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. Does anyone think this the lowest model of the mini macs is a good purchase for a couple of years? I know it will be out of date quicker than some of my other options. But, my monitor is really good, so I think I shouldn't go the emac or imac route. Any suggestions or thoughts out there? I appreciate it.

If you like your phone, your provider, post good things about your experiences. This provider battle is growing old fast....
Couldn't agree more. I don't see why you have to hate another network, is their competitor paying you off or what? If you like yours awesome, if you hate another wtf cares?

Allume has been acquired by Smith Micro Software.
Press release (http://www.smithmicro.com/default.tpl?group=news_full&id1=273&id2=13):Smith Micro Software Inc., a developer and marketer of a wide range of software and services for the wireless market, today announced it has acquired Allume Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of International Microcomputer Software Inc.
Allume is a leading provider of compression software solutions that enable state of the art compression, security and archiving of data including JPEG, MPEG and MP3 platforms. The Company's pioneering product suite known as StuffIt has been a de facto industry standard since 1986.I suppose the Aladdin software -- StuffIt, Internet Cleanup, Spring Cleaning, etc. -- will stay the same, but with yet another new owner.

Hi, I want to put some CD's that I purchased on my iTunes to put on my iPod. The only problem is that I am getting a new laptop soon, my BlackBook is dyeing.)))): Well, so far I have bought all my music on iTunes, but it's so expensive. I bought many CD's like I said, and I'm putting them on iTunes. When I plug the iPod into a new computer, it would ask me if I wanted to transfer my purchases. And everything that I bought would transfer. The songs that I got from other websites wouldn't transfer. But If I import the CD's through iTunes, will it still transfer to the new computer? Or do they have to be bought from iTunes?
Thank You!
Thank You!

I'm looking at picking up a Mini Display to HDMI cable from monoprice.com. I want to make sure it'll do what I want and think I found the answer but I'm curious if anybody can confirm. Will it carry sound and video from my computer to TV?

Odd, I just downloaded iTunes a couple of days ago. You're definitely downloading it from this page (http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/), yes?

I love the holiday. However, Santa 'Jobs' won't come until MacWorld.
Of course, it's heaven when fans are able to watch the Keynote live or be a part of the MacWorld Expo hype.

How do I re-setup it? The problem seems to be that it can't find any networks anymore. The reception is zero.
After you remove the preferences per MJ's suggestion, and check all your connections and it still doesn't work, then reset your Airport to it's original settings.
After you reset your Airport, then use the utility Airport Setup Assistant in your UTILITIES folder under your APPLICATIONS folder.
They should be able to find each other then.

Well, it's mostly games, which is a pity. I know it's not a gaming laptop but they do sell them through Steam, so I'd like to buy them.
The way you say it, it seems related to the extra power provided by the SB processor. So there seem to be three solutions.
1. Undervolting, which isn't possible right now.
2. Downgrading, and, as in the MacBook Air, fixing another kind of bottleneck (HD operation).
3. Better cooling through termal paste, more fans, cooling pad, etc.
Am I right here? I'd like to know more about this CPU+GPU combo in the same core, because I read it lead to further heating. Is there any truth to this?
Just because it's on steam doesn't mean you need to buy the game... Furthermore, like with Windows, you need to see if the requirements match your system or it'll run poorly.
Under volt is possible. It's pointless though especially if you're stressing the system then the fan will come on or your system will shut down
Downgrade is up to you. But any system, you stress it, fans will come on
Cooling pad just adds to the noise. You can attempt a thermal paste change but like I said, games will cause the system to run fans at max to keep it a good temperature.
It's not so much of a CPU + GPU combo, it's the heat generated by both parts of the die concentrated on a single heatsink. To be honest the older systems genereated about the same amount of wattage wasted in heat so it's not too big of a difference

Well pffft to IGN. I was at the store yesterday and  there was a stack of Theme Park for DS. Sweet! So I got it for $29.99 cdn. Saved me from importing it. Almost dead on to the PSX version, a little more advanced than the Genesis one, but not quite as advanced as the PC version. The stylus control isn't perfect but it works better than a pad thats for sure.

This is generally called newsletter software. Id suggest looking into CampaignMonitor (http://www.campaignmonitor.com/), which will give you HTML code for a form you can embed (and customise) plus an online interface for managing your list and sending out newsletters. Another similar service is MailChimp (http://www.mailchimp.com).

MacBook 5.1
Hmm, maybe this applies then?
Standard RAM: 2 GB
Maximum RAM: 8 GB*
Details: 2 GB of RAM is installed as two 1 GB modules, no slots free.
*Apple officially supports a maximum of 4 GB of RAM. Originally, this model was only unofficially capable of stably supporting 6 GB of RAM, but as confirmed (http://blog.macsales.com/9102-secret-firmware-lets-late-08-macbooks-use-8gb) by site sponsor OWC, it is capable of supporting 8 GB of RAM if updated to Boot ROM Version MB51.007D.B03 and running MacOS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard."

I don't have a machine with IE6 on so can't see the issue directly. However running your page through the W3C validator shows no errors in the html so it's unlikely to be that. When you say "just highlights the input box as if it is active", what do you mean? This, unless I've misunderstood what you have written, is the default for any browser.
Can you enter text in to the input box? Any other symptoms?
I mean when clicking on the input box instead of it focusing on the input box for text entry, it instead focuses on the submit button.
While ie6 is not my target platform since the site worked so far without any alterations i don't mind supporting it.

Crap - I'm leaving Mac desktop before I even arrived :)
My only mac products will be the excellent MBA 13 ultimate, iPad 2 (iPad 1 remote for my Sonos now) and iPhone 4.
Mac desktop will probably never ever work for a PC design builder like me :)
Too slow updates and when updates finally come they're still full of flaws and too little info on upcoming updates because of APPLE DINERO MAXOUT ;)
Bye bye !!
