The Sartorialist Files: Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2010
Well the Louis Vuitton show just wrapped up and some of the first looks from the show have provided some AWESOME pieces that would make excellent staples in any sartorialist's wardrobe! According to Selectism "The focus is on the details, the accessories, and the footwear. “Vienna’s Wiener Werkstätte in the early 20th century attracted a community of artists including Franz Kafka and Egon Schiele with their own creative way of mixing business and leisure style." German artist Christian Schoeler has designed the handpainted leather bags in
collaboration with Louis Vuitton designer Paul Helbers. Inspired by 19th century painting, the bags will be available in very limited numbers across three styles (a clutch bag, a larger holdall and a smaller rucksack). Schoeler has explained that the bags represent an artists’ paint-splattered backpack, “like an accidental customization.” (Hypebeast)
The show featured duffle bags, backpacks, boots, peacoats, and other accessories. Its maddening how Louis Vuitton makes their Ready-To-Wear pieces so hard for the average buyer to purchase. I look at other blogs and see celebrities decked out head to toe in a wide array of LV pieces yet you go to a store and see a couple t-shirts, maybe a hoodie and lots of accessories. Get your stuff together Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs!!
