Old School Cool...

A really good friend of mine had me tattoo this wicked badass traditional reaper on his forearm. I love this tattoo, and the more I look at it, it becomes one of my favorite tattoos I've ever done. Thanks for getting this buddy, I think I might like it more than you!

St. Michael Tattoo...

Mike, who's a really nice kid, came in for his second tattoo by me. He recently joined the Army, and his first tattoo was a skull wearing a beret with crossed M4s. He was being shipped off to war in a few days, and decided to get St. Michael, the Angel of Protection, inked on his forearm. He was very happy with the finished piece as was I. By the time of this post, he would of been sent to the war all ready. So, God be with you, good luck, and keep your head down bro!

"Live, Laugh, Love" Tattoo...

This girl came in for a variation of a popular tattoo on her side. She wanted her favorite flowers to be mixed in with her favorite quote, and she wanted it BIG! I had all ready done one small tattoo on her, so this was a huge step up in size and pain factor! She sat great, and the final product reflects what happens when you combine a good idea, with talent, and someone who is willing to endure a good bit of pain for something they really desire.
And this woman wanted to reproduce an image from a Christmas greeting card she was fond of. Its of a hound hunting a stuffed animal, and is one of the more un-ordinary tattoos that I've done in a while!

Fighter Tattoos...

I recently had some fellas come in the shop who like to fight. The kid above is a mixed martial arts fighter, and wanted the seven deadly sins tattooed down his back. We did it in one sitting, which is a testament to his pain tolerance, because the only other tattoo he had was a relatively small one on his arm. It's always fun getting the opportunity to tattoo someone who has a really interesting job or hobby, and I enjoyed hearing fight stories for most of the session. He was a really, really nice kid too!
My man pictured above is training to be a boxer, and came in for his second tattoo from me. The first was a tribute to the city of Philadelphia. Also a really great guy, and I always enjoy talking to him. If I were to become a boxer, I'd want to do it in Philly too...home of Rocky, right?!

Cloud 10 Status: DNA Ancestry Portraits

I remember a few years ago having a conversation with a friend (I can't remember who..maybe my buddy Tim Chung) in which we discussed him purchasing a piece of DNA Art.  Well I guess the movement is catching on because DNA Ancestry Portraits are now offering to add to your Fung Shui.

"This new service from our pals at DNA 11 uses a cheek swab or existing ancestry test to create a personalized ancestry page detailing your maternal lineage, and then creates a 2D barcode that's transferred onto a custom canvas in one of three sizes and in one of 25 stunning color combinations, and when scanned with a smartphone will lead you back to your custom ancestry page. A true conversation starter, in more ways than one."

Its a Canadian brainchild.. WOOT I knew I remember this concept from a year ago!!  They ship for FREE in Canada and paintings start at $440.

Cloud 10 Status: M55 Hybrid Bike

The most M55 Hybrid Bike futuristic bicycle I've seen since the unicycle (tell me you never thought that bad boy was LEGENDARY AND AHEAD OF ITS TIME??) anyway, this bicycle features "a built-in electronic motor and batter pack, and uses a sensor to determine when you need extra torque, switching on the motor automatically. Other features include a Fox suspension, Brembo brakes, and an aluminum frame, plus all the smug points that come with owning a "hybrid bicycle."  Looks like something the Lost Boys would've concocted!

Well slap me down and call me Anna Mae, I never thought that when I proposed a #ThePlate Contest (see the ORIGINAL PLATE HERE) for Thanksgiving 2010 I never thought that there would be so many delusional cooks/food recipients in the world.  Some of you need to just focus on eating, getting ethnic fatigue and letting that tryptophan do its fugging job! 5) The Cheesecakes!?! I aint seen that much crack since the Plumber Convention of 82'..  More crack than an urban, predominantly black neighborhood in the suburbs of DC during the Ronald Reagan era.  The lady who posted these got real salty too talking about WE DON'T KNOW OUR WAY AROUND A KITCHEN LET ALONE HOW TO BAKE A CHEESECAKE...Oh

6) Someone pass them elbow pasta a life preserver because THEY SWIMMING AND DROWNING!! Fugg you going posting this soupy, liquidy, extra moist ass excuse for some Mac and Cheese?

Cloud 10 Status: Kanye For Complex: Project Runaway

Kanye West is riding a high right now, his latest album (that I am picking up TODAY don't judge me for being late I was broker than the MC Hammer in 97 #anywaydoe) My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is one of the years most anticipated albums of the year and from what I've been hearing from the album and from users it has lived up to the HYPE! Kanye is a musical genius there is no other way to put it, hate him or love him the man is a marksmen at his craft!! Anyway Complex Magazine's Noah Callahan-Bever caught up with Yeezy in the studio in Hawaii where he sought refuge and fine-tuned his creativity...

"Did you look at my eyes?" asked Kanye West over the phone. He was calling from Milan. It was the middle of October 2009. It had been over a year since the completion of his last LP, 808s & Heartbreak, but this conversation was my first glimpse of what would become My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. "I mean, really look in my eyes in the ‘Run This Town' video. If you do, you can't tell me you're surprised by what happened. It was all there in my eyes."

He was, of course, referring to "what happened" at the 2009 VMAs, one week after the video shoot. Kanye and I had exchanged emails days after the Taylor Swift incident, but between him being inundated with criticism and my own personal distraction—a recently discovered brain tumor, of all things—this conversation, a month later, was our first real catch-up. And yes, Kanye West and I do periodically catch up. (And yes, I know how that sounds. Believe me.) Which is why, when I finally got around to explaining my condition over email, I received this concerned phone call from Milan, like, four minutes later.

After I hurried through the uncomfortable explanation of where I was at, the commiserating naturally turned to the major event in his life. Besieged and apologetic—but defiant—Kanye explained the fragile, overworked mental state that led to the outburst, his disgust with the ensuing media storm, and why he'd suddenly, and seemingly indefinitely, gone full ex-pat.

Head over to COMPLEX to read the entire interview!!

Where to Look For Cool Forearm Tattoo Designs

If you are looking for a forearm tattoo design, think twice before you get your tattoo designs for free off the internet. Why? When looking for an idea or design for tattoo, most people do not have much option to choose from. So, they turn to the internet for free tattoo art works that are available to just about everyone else. Needless to say, these free tattoo designs are being reuse by many others.

Therefore, if you choose to use a free design, don't be surprise that you're tattoo is very similar or totally identical to someone else's. Besides that, when you are choosing a forearm tattoo design, make sure you choose one you will still be proud of to show everyone even after 10 years down the road. Because of the visibility of a forearm tattoo, people are going to see your tattoo.

If you choose to tattoo something on your forearm and regret it few years later, it will be a hassle having to "hide" it under your shirt sleeves or even go through the pain of a tattoo removal surgery. So make sure that you think twice and select your forearm tattoo art works wisely!

So what is a good place to find some good forearm tattoo designs? Besides heading down to your favorite artist's parlor and flipping through his/her portfolio, there is another increasingly popular method to search for great forearm tattoo art work, upper back tattoo designs, ankle tattoo designs and so on... Just about any type of tattoo designs. This method that I'm referring to, is to join a tattoo membership site. If you are not sure if it is worth joining a membership site, the answer is yes, it is definitely worth the money to join a tattoo design membership site.

For an inexpensive one time fee of around 30 dollars, you gain lifetime access to an ever growing archive of tattoo art works and stencils done by professional. Thus, you do not have to waste your time and effort searching for a quality tattoo art works. Rather, you have it readily available for you as and when you want it. Designs from membership sites are also definitely much more unique than those that are available for free.

If you really do care about the uniqueness of your tattoo, never, never get your tattoo art works from a free tattoo art work website. Instead, join a tattoo membership site and all your problem will be solved. These are just a few tips to help you when choosing not only forearm tattoo designs, but just about any other type of tattoo art work. Ta-tatau ‘ta’ ( polynesian ) means striking something and ‘tatau’ ( tahitian ) means ‘to mark something’ . So the word Tattoo was form .

tattoo history

The history of tattoo began over 5000 years ago and is as diverse as the people who wear them .

It is said that first tattoo was created accidently , someone had a small wound, and rubbed it with a hand that was dirty with soot and ashes from the fire. once the wound had healed, they saw that a mark stayed permanently. So then tattoos got birth and are created by inserting colored materials beneath the skins surface.

Can all Tattoos be removed?

Unfortunately, not all tattoos can be removed completely, but the majority can be. Tattoos are meant to be permanent and with recent ink technology and professional tattoo artists improving their skills, tattoos imprinted in the last decade are very difficult to remove. Even with the best technique, some residual scarring remains in a few cases.

It's a Tattoo World: How It's Made and Where It's Heading

Much of North America's mainstream society has greatly changed its view on tattoos, moving from conservative parents hating them to much of the population getting them. In an everyday trip to the grocery store one may see the average soccer mom/Baby Boomer sporting a Mickey Mouse tattoo, a juice monkey picking up protein powder with a tribal tattooed arm or a teen girl sporting the ubiquitous star tattoo as an accessory with her low rise jeans.

Despite the economic crisis much of North America has been experiencing the past couple of years, many tattoo artists have seen a rise in the request for tattoos (thanks to reality tattoo shows). The hourly rate demanded by tattoo artists can start at $150 and larger pieces can take over 10 hours to complete! (That's $1500 for a complex piece - PLUS tip). While the economic factor does deter some people, many feel there's no better time than now to start their body art.

The celebrity-obsessed world we live in is one which raises unknowns to superstar status with the click of a button, or the remote control. Kat Von D, a tattoo artist who has reached international superstar status: with her own show and make up line her annual income is now estimated at $5 million. That does not include her (quite probably) high tattoo rate and various other endeavors. Check out this article where she discusses life, her regrets and grannies complimenting her tattoos.

Getting a tattoo is a monumental decision for most people, so below we've given you some tips as to the where and hows of getting 'er done:

The Tattooing Process

STEP 1 - CHOOSING A TATTOO
Make sure that the design you choose suites you ad your personality cause it is PERMANANT.

STEP 2- LOCATION
Choosing the right location on your body is important. Different tattoos are suited better for different parts of the body.

STEP 3 - CHOOSING A STUDIO
Choosing a studio is one of the most crucial steps toward getting a tattoo.
In your decision making you should do the following:
                Check the Tattoo Artist certifications.
Check the autoclave and sterilization certifications
Make sure that artist wears protective gloves.
Be sure about the cleanliness of the equipments that are being used in the process of tattooing.
Properly observe that the ointments, ink and water used for the purpose are taken from separate and clean containers.
Insist that sterile or new needles should be taken from an autoclave bag in front of you.
And after the use the needles should be disposed off appropriately.
Insist on the use of fresh inks used as the color of the tattoos.
Also make sure that each color of ink comes from a bottle that is poured into a small cup specifically for your tattoo.
Satisfy yourself by ensuring that neither a needle is reused nor the remains of prior used ink could be used on you.
See prior designs of tattoos made by the artists in the studio.
Only allow the Tattoo Artist touch your skin only after being fully satisfied about his talent.
DO NOT WORRY OR RUSH if it takes a long time to find a neat and clean parlor as well as the artist. After all it is the question of health and hygiene.
STEP 4-HEALTH RISK
Knowing and taking precaution against health risks is very important before proceeding with your tattoo

STEP 5 - GET TATTED
The final step is getting that tattoo that you have been patiently waiting for.
