Cloud 10 Status: Wayne Brady, Mike Tyson and Bobby Brown!

I can hear Whitney screaming BOBBAY!!! The ORIGINAL King of R&B!!! BOBBAY Brown.  Man I was rolling when I saw this video Wayne Brady did featuring Mike Tyson (as a backup dancer) and Bobby Brown came in towards the end hahahaha. Mike dancing was just man iCRIED.   They remade Bobby's hit 'Every Little Step'

Cloud 10 Status: Lou Dalton's Zip Trousers

Its always refreshing to see designer put a refreshing spin on standard articles of clothing. Lou Dalton has complimented the standard pant with a little zipper action.

I mean how many pairs of pants have you seen before that feature a cool, nifty detail like zippers on the bottom of your pant leg?  These pants are perfect for a casual day/night out with friends or a date and would work well with hi-top sneakers or low profile shoes.  Selectism recommends desert boots or chukkas I could see those working but hey if you do cop a pair make sure to experiment with shoes.

Here's a new music spot featuring some HOT OUT THE GREASE music for ya from some of your favorite artists like Faith Evans, Ciara and Keyshia Cole, Seal and introducing new artist Wish!!

Secret - Seal (Let all the AWWWWWWWWWWWWWs pour in, one of Hollywood's gentlemen has just swept his lady off of her feet again by writing this song for her and having her as his leading lady..)

Can't Stay Away - Faith Evans featuring Keyshia Cole (Man I'm just happy to see Faith back making music yo, this track though promising on paper was kind of underwhelming for me.  What yall think?)

Look in Da Mirror - Yo Gotti featuring Wale, Wiz Khalifa, J. Cole (CLUB BANGER FOR THE STREETS!!!)

Suga Daddy - Wish (I'd like to introduce you guys to a new artist who goes by the name of Wish, she has been on her grind for a while and yeah check out her new song.  I am getting vibes of Martha and the Vandellas very catchy song and her vocal prowess is very impressive!!! You'd also be surprised to learn that Wish is indeed a transvestite hahaha I said WAYMENT them jaws to strong.. Cool song nonetheless I guess!! Cloud 10 LV doesn't discriminate on talent.)

Speechless - Ciara (Damn I never thought Ci Ci's career would be at stage desperate this early but damn she's like a blind person feeling around the dark.)

Respeito (Respect): Os Gemeos in Kaunas, Lithuania

Ah nothing like a good piece of art to set my Hump Day off right.  I love new, innovative and refreshing expressions of artistic thoughts today's work is from some Lithuanian street artist Os Gemeos who have manipulated depth perception and angles to make this 2D work look 3D and so freaking real.  Look at the image above and how the photographer captured the true essence of the painting's innocence.

Cloud 10 Status: Blackberry Playbook *UPDATED*

Uh oh looks like Apple might have some brainstorming to do as Blackberry (surprisingly not Microsoft first) has released what may steal a whole ton of customers away from the iPad.  I say this because the Playbook comes already loaded with Flash 10.1 compatibility; something the iPad is sorely missing.

"Touted as the first "professional-grade" tablet, BlackBerry's Playbook comes packed with a 7'' inch, multi-touch display, access to the whole suite of BlackBerry services, dual cameras, and full Flash 10.1 compatibility. And for your suits out there, the Playbook is ready to play nice on the corporate level with enterprise-ready features right out of the box."  It also allows you to connect to your company's server and unlike the iPad it has two camera (like the iPhone 4) so you can video conference.   The one downfall is that 3G availability will not be built into the Blackberry Playbook when its released next Spring.

I see this thing is all business with some play mixed in, this will probably go over well with the Crackberry fanatics!!  No word on what its going to retail for or what the data plan options are going to look like but I'll keep you guys posted.  I hope Blackberry realizes though that they are playing catch up with Apple because Apple sold A LOT of iPad's out of the gate.  It was a product that was lacking but of course you know as Apple always does they save the GOODS for the 2nd and 3rd generations to make consumers keep buying and spending...

Apple - 1      Blackberry - 0

Cloud 10 Status: House of Dereon Temporary Tattoos

There is a reason this female-drive, female-oriented post did not get the tagline (CLOUD 10 FOR MY LADIES) its because I can't decide if I think the tattoos are cool or I'm just feeling Bey in this pictures.  I think its mainly the latter but meh since they are temporary tattoos for her female fans I guess it can get a bit of love too.  Beyonce and her mother's often joked about, and decried line 'House of Dereon' may have just received the jolt of life, of picking up where Baby Phat left off that it needed.

Anyway Dereon teams up with Temptu to create a line of temporary tattoos that feature chains, skulls, spiders and other random things I'd never associate with Bey.   The tattoos will be sold online on Dereon.com and Temptu.com where there is a wait list already.  The tattoos will retail for $16 for a sheet and $34 for the deluxe edition which will be limited to 500 orders.

Cloud 10 LV Presents: Street Etiquette's 'The Black Ivy'

Damn I'd be remiss if I didn't admit that I was in utter adulation when I saw this post from the guys over at Street Etiquette.  The blog ran by 20 year olds (far more mature than their age represents) Joshua Kissi and Travis Gumbs (who are featured in the photographs) displays HBCU's and black prep culture in a light I had never seen before.  I mean I have always seen glimpses and I was embodying this lifestyle that I could never put a correct title to but I just knew what it was in the way I carried myself and the clothes I chose.  It gives my great pleasure to share a photo diary that I would KILL to be a part of.   They evoked the spirit of the true HBCU experience by tapping into the sartorial roots of great institutions like Howard, Morehouse and Spelman!

Tell me you can't see me in this shot!?!?!?! LOL WOOT Long live Prepsters!

Props!

Cloud 10's New Music Spot

First time in a while I actually get to compile a decent music post with different artists.   This week will feature new music from of course Kanye West, Bruno Mars, Nelly.

Grenade - Bruno Mars (I'm really feeling this track right here, damn that's some hard love right there!!)

Liquor Store Blues - Bruno Mars featuring Damien 'Jr Gong' Marley (Bruno's new album Doo Wop and Hooligans is shaping up to be a hit in the making!!! His single 'Just the Way You Are' is sitting comfortably at #1 on the Billboard charts despite his recent arrest for cocaine possession..)

So Appalled - Kanye West featuring Jay-Z, Swizz Beats, RZA, Pusha T & Cyphi The Prince (Kanye's just pulling PEOPLE to be on his new album...I'm IMPRESSED!!)

Just a Dream - Nelly (The 'Inception' inspired video won me over, I was on the fence about the song alone (which is doing really well on Top 40 radio, but the video was simple, yet poignant and featured no money, cars and hoes...a marked departure from Nelly's usual! I'm digging it)

Cloud 10 Status: Short Film - This Time

Wow I didn't expect this movie to resonate with me so much, nor do I know what it feels like to lose someone during war.  But this short film written by Reagan Gomez and directed by Matthew Cherry was very very profound and poignant!  The fact that Reagan is my future wifey/baby mama as soon as she leaves her husband make it even better!!  The film's director has partnered with Our Fallen Soldiers to raise money and awareness for the families of those who have lost loved ones abroad!!

According to the YBF " Written by Reagan Gomez, Matthew says the film is a labor of love for both he and Reagan as both have family members that were deployed overseas.  They wanted to do something that spoke to family members that have troops coming home from the war.
The film centers around Reagan's character who, the night before her wedding, runs into an ex-boyfriend whom she still loves.  Having just returned home from the war on terror, the ex-boyfriend makes it clear that he still loves Reagan.  She now must make a difficult choice between her two loves."

Cloud 10's Tribute to Lunch Box Classics!!

All Hail the original QUEEN BEE!! Little Debbie!!

How many of us used to fiend for the days when we would go to school everyday, do our arithmetic (isn't that an old ass thing to say? ARITHMETIC), spelling tests, P.E. and most importantly BREAK TIME!  Recess meant if you had a proper system you would have 2-3 snacks and a drink to crush during the first recess, a lunch and drink and then the afternoon break another snack.  If you were balling or greedy as Precious you'd have something stashed for after school too.  HELL YEAH!!! Anyway we took Twitter over on Tuesday going in with our nostalgic attachments to Little Debbie pies, Honey Buns, Doritos and Honey Buns so I thought it only appropriate to do a tribute post to our childhood snacks on here!!

1) Capri Sun - Now tell me you weren't GEEKED to drink your Capri Sun everyday?  The biggest challenge was being an expert at sticking the straw in hole that was placed in an awkward position..(wait we're still talking about Capri Suns right??) Yeah anyway if you were like me you made sure to freeze your Capri Sun everyday to make sure it was nice and cold or icy enough so you could cut it open and eat the icy sweet goodness!! WOOT The Pacific Cooler and Fruit Punch were my favorites!!!

2) Yoo Hoo - Now I never really fugged with Yoo Hoo's like that but these looked like the chocolate milk drinks to mess with on the daily.  Yoo Hoo baby YOO HOO!!

3)Dunkaroos - Mayne I just had some Dunkaroos a couple years ago at my old job and the memories came flooding back.  You were considered in the COOL club if you had Dunkaroos in your lunch box.  WOOT Dunk-a-FUGGING-rooooooooooooos!!!

4) Fruit By The Foot - Yup Yup another product that automatically elevated you to the ELITE club even it is was only during recess.  God thing about Fruit by the Foot was if you were nasty you would unwind the whole thing from the tape around your germ infested finger. Or if you were a Tony Chelub in training you would just eat it straight off of the tape.  Either way this was the TRUTH!!  I know I'm not the only one who thought Fruit by the Foot was like 6 feet long... Shout out to the bootleg brands my moms would buy too..

5) Fruit Roll Up - Before there was Fruit By the foot the original ROLLED UP anything brand was Fruit by the Fruit!!! I remember they had the tattoo joints that used to transfer on to your tongue.  Tell me you weren't an expert if you could get your Fruit Roll-Up clean off that sheet without it breaking apart or staying stuck?? SHIIIIIIIIIIIID!!

6) Barnum's Animal Crackers - Mayne when I saw that picture (above) I almost shed a muffugging tear yo!! I remember religiously my mama would put me in the trolley and I would sit in that basket like a G and we'd go to the cookies aisle and I'd get my Barnum's Animal Cracker to CRUSH while I rode through the store.  Yeah gangsters like ME would eat food in the grocery store before paying for it!! ARE THEY STILL MAKING THESE AND WHERE CAN I COP A BOX??

7) Lil Debbie Cakes - Yall know I ride EXTRA hard for Little Debbie right?  I mean she's the matriarch of this entire post!! Little Debbie was THAT BISH back in the day!! The fact that my mama's name is Debbie makes Lil Debbie even more of a G in my books!  My moms stanned hard for Little Debbie too so it was only natural.  Whether it was Raisin Cream Pies, Swiss Rolls, Zebra Cakes, Nutty Bars, Oatmeal Cream Pies, Banana Pies, Fudge Brownies (with the nuts on top) or the Honey Bun Little Debbie offered a lot of options for us!!

8) Honey Bun - I never really liked Honey Buns as a kid but I knew every kid in the hood STANNED extra hard for Honey Buns.  I'm not talking about the Little Debbie version posted at #7 I'm talking about the bootleg brands like Duchess!  Man those public school kids would eat a Honey Bun and a soda and that was their meal for the day!!!

9) Teddy Grahams - I stanned hard for the Honey Graham and Chocolate joints.. I didn't really fugg with the chocolate chip and cinnamon joints that much.  But them Teddy Grahams I beheaded many of em in my life. Please note that the picture above features...WHOLE GRAIN aka The Health Fanatics have changed the original recipe!  See I can get down with the health movement but you don't just go CHANGING CLASSICS all willy nilly!!!

10) Planters Cheez Balls - This is one that really vexates me man! Planters stopped making Cheez Balls!!  Along with being a BOMB ASS snack to munch on, the spherical shapes were mint!  The empty Planters cans especially the tall Cheez Balls ones always made dope drums!!  I found an online petition that you need to sign in order to bring Cheez Balls back!! Let your voices be heard over HERE

Anyway that's all for today!! Check back for Part 2 with the remainder of our favorite childhood snacks!!

Cloud 10's New Music Spot: Nicki Minaj - Right Thru Me

Here's Nicki Minaj's latest leaked single called 'Right Thru Me'.  The track finds the Young Money rapstress crooning on the hook of this track like we've never heard her before.  I think Nicki may or may not have a crossover hit on her hand, depends on how well the Pop market gobbles it up.  I'm on the fence with this one I think 'Check It Out' would've been a better go to single as opposed to a buzz single but I digress.  Nicki is trying to see which single she should go with so we have to wait.  Nicki did reveal in her interview with Funkmaster Flex, that she has a real gutter single for the hood, vintage Nicki flow on that track she's gonna drop..

The Sartorialist Files: Ralph Lauren Hand-Knit Wool Toggle Sweater

Ralph Lauren may have just achieved an insurmountable challenge.  They actually managed to produce a wool sweater (in a handsome oatmeal color) with that crazy print on it that I actually like....A LOT.  I usually shy away from the UGLY Christmas Sweater type sweaters, but I'd be a liar if I didn't say this one was nicely crafted and exquisitely designed.  The print is actually a nice touch along with the toggled opening near the neck.  According to Ralph Lauren “Designed in a soft blend of wool, silk and alpaca for ultimate comfort, our hand-knit sweater is finished with an intarsia-knit design and wood buttons at the neck for heritage style.”

It retails for about $295 over on the Ralph Lauren

Cloud Status: Complex October/November Featuring Nicki Minaj

LOL there is something endearing about Nicki Minaj with all her zany antics, animated faces and schizophrenic like persona I like this chick.  She's not your most profound rapper but she manages to keep me smiling and listening time after time.   She is featured on the cover of Complex with Kid Cudi on the other cover!

Check out her pictures, video interview and some excerpts from her Complex Magazine interview!!!

LV

Complex: Everyone has this image of you as a cartoon character with outlandish wigs, but at our shoot today you were much more low-key.
Nicki Minaj: [Laughs.] Every woman is a character—but people need to see I'm a regular human. It's like you wear a pink wig and you're no longer human all of sudden. You're a thing. Like today [the photographer] was like, "Where is that Nicki Minaj smile?" But this shoot doesn't call for the Nicki Minaj smile. You guys wanted me subdued, so I'm gonna give you a different side. I'm not gonna pull a string and be like, "It's Barbie, bitch!"
Is it intimidating to know that, besides The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill, there are very few indisputable classic female rap albums?
Nicki Minaj: I want to do well, but I don't think I'm intimidated. People's expectations of what I'm capable of doing are very low. People have been used to hearing little one-liners and me play around.
You think people still underestimate you, even with the success you've been having?
Nicki Minaj: Absolutely. A lot of people don't know I wrote all the hooks on the album. I arranged the music, did the transitions. [Other female rappers] are told what to do, but I run my entire empire; I don't think people would expect that.
Was it hard for you to get that latitude from the label?
Nicki Minaj: My generation is creative; all we need is a Baby or a Slim to back us. We don't need you to tell us what to do, but we need you to nurture our decisions, and I think Cash Money understands that. I didn't have Wayne obviously, since he's been in jail, so there wasn't anyone I could have called and asked for help. Actually, when I've relied on people in the past is when I've made the biggest mistakes. When I trust my gut, I win.
What are some of your biggest mistakes?
Nicki Minaj: I won't say.
Were they recent mistakes?
Nicki Minaj: Yeah.
Recent as in "Massive Attack"?
Nicki Minaj: [Laughs.] Next question.
What has Wayne's involvement been on the album?
Nicki Minaj: He really hasn't had any involvement on it. But to be honest, the album doesn't sound like Wayne. I mean, he's my biggest influence, but it doesn't sound like Wayne's stuff. It sounds like Nicki.
You have the smash single "Your Love" out right now. When did you record it?
Nicki Minaj: Two years ago, before I dropped Beam Me Up Scotty. I loved the beat and the hook, but I didn't like my delivery on it; that's why I re-recorded it when it leaked. [Before it leaked] I was like, "This is going in the trash."

Speaking of Young Money, did your labelmate Drake tell you he'd be mentioning wanting to marry you on his verse for "Miss Me" before you heard it?
Nicki Minaj: He told me he said something about me on a verse, but I didn't think it would be anything like that. He let me hear it for the first time when we did Jay's show at Madison Square Garden, the day before Wayne had to go to jail—that night he let me hear it on the headphones. But you know what else he told me he wrote for me? The Alicia Keys song "I'm Ready." I happen to love the song. I never told anyone that, I hope he won't get mad that I said that.
